French's vision for the future in regards to public education includes successfully obtaining the following goals: Ensuring that high school graduates are better prepared for college Reducing the drop out rate Eliminating criminal gang activity in the schools Encouraging physical activity and healthy diets and lifestyles French Donald Mackes, Jr. actively volunteers to serve the public. He was the head coach of a youth baseball team in Virginia Beach during Spring 2008. He has coached youth sports in the past too. French routinely volunteers and moves the "Super Citizen" of the month signs from yard to yard every month for the PTA of a public school in Virginia Beach.
